Driving:

If you wish to drive into Boston for the event, we have made the following arrangements:

► since parking will be limited at the Community College, parking will be available at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, right off of the Southeast Expressway, Exit # ??.  A Roxbury Community College Shuttle bus will be running back and forth between U-Mass Boston and the Community College.  Please follow the link(s) below for directions to the U-Mass Boston parking lot and where you will be picked up by the Community College Shuttle bus.

Groups/Carpool:

Those that wish to make their own plans, we encourage you to gather your friends and family to drive in together (so they can share the gas tank related expenses, sort of speak).  BUT with today's gas prices, we encourage organizations in all the states to organize groups to be transported to the event.  One of the bus tour companies around providing this kind of service is DATTCO.  Last I checked, they charge around $90/hour, with a minimum engagement of 4 hours and that does not include the tip for the bus driver.  For further support or logistics, please follow the advice and/or link(s) below :

► For directions (and others), please refer to the section above, entitled "Driving".

► For parking, please refer to the section below, entitled "Public Transportation".

DISCUSSIONS

M.B.T.A.

► Request they allow us to have (2) shuttles to go into the South Station bus station (into the bus bay) to drop-off and pick-up attendees of this event.  Worst case scenario, allow the shuttles to park in front of the bus station on Atlantic Ave. for at least as long as 15 min.'s per trip.  One of the pros having the shuttles going into the bay is that the merchants will generate extra revenue that day, from bottles of water, lottery tickets to McDonald's and D'Angelos meals.

U-Mass, Boston

► Request they allow (1) our paticipants to park in their parking lots and (2) allow the shuttles to pick-up and drop-off those parking in their parking lots.

Roxbury Community College

► Check if they have a shuttle fleet.  The athletic department might have one.  If not, let's tap our alumnis to see if they alma mata (spl?) will either volunteer part of their fleet (2 shuttles and 2 drivers per shift, perhaps a total of 2 shifts) or worse case scenario, charge us a nominal fee or their regular rates.
